A signature showcase of structural minimalism, featuring a warm sphere of organic amber suspended within a rigid, open-frame architectural band. The interior chamber is fused with 24ct gold Keum Boo, casting a radiant, golden glow through the amber sphere as it interacts with light.
An exquisite study in organic form, silversmithing, and structural design. Mizukagami features a blooming water lily focal piece with an amber center, paired with an articulated lily pad chain and an accompanying hand-fabricated silver vessel designed to fully enclose the chain.
Open structures that create the perception that the gemstone exists independently within the metal.
A faceted amethyst appears to float within an open silver framework, held between two polished planes by a series of slender structural pillars. The open construction allows light to enter the stone from multiple directions, while the mirrored interior reflects and intensifies its violet colour. The piece explores the relationship between stone, structure and negative space — creating a moment where the mechanism that holds the gemstone becomes almost invisible, leaving the stone suspended within the frame. A slender emerald-cut diamond is held within a precisely constructed silver framework, its long geometric form echoing the linear structure that surrounds it. Open sections and slender internal supports allow the architecture to recede, leaving the diamond visually suspended within the ring. The clean geometry creates a deliberate contrast with the brilliance of the stone, exploring the point where structure becomes setting and setting becomes form. A study in restraint, proportion and suspension.
A vivid emerald-cut pink moissanite is held between two polished silver planes, suspended within an open geometric frame. Exposed rivets and slender supports reveal the construction of the piece, while the open chamber allows light to enter the stone and draw out flashes of magenta and violet. The contrast between the rigid silver framework and the intense colour of the gemstone creates a study in structure, light and negative space — where the mechanics of the setting become part of the visual language of the ring. A faceted red garnet is held within an open silver framework, its deep colour set against a warm field of 24ct gold applied by Keum Boo to the inner band. The open construction allows the stone to remain visually separated from the surrounding structure, while the gold reflects light back through the garnet and intensifies its changing red tones. The piece explores the relationship between stone, structure and reflection — using precious metal not only to hold the gemstone, but to alter the way it is perceived. A pale pink morganite extends through an open sterling silver framework, its irregular faceted form contrasting with the precise geometry of the surrounding structure. The stone appears to emerge from the frame while remaining suspended within the open space, creating a dialogue between organic form and constructed geometry. The piece explores the point where structure meets stone — allowing the natural character of the gemstone to interrupt the discipline of the frame rather than conforming to it. Hand-fabricated in sterling silver, this ring explores reflection through an open geometric framework. The highly polished inner surfaces act as a series of mirrors, capturing and fragmenting the surroundings of the wearer as the ring moves. With no gemstone to provide a focal point, the structure itself becomes the subject. Light, reflection and negative space continually change the appearance of the piece, making the ring as much an interaction with its environment as an object worn on the body.
The stone holds the structure, the setting becomes dependent upon opposing forces.
An oval cabochon sapphire is held between two opposing silver bands, with the pressure of the structure securing the stone without conventional claws or a surrounding bezel. The open construction leaves the sapphire exposed on all sides, allowing its smooth surface and deep blue colour to remain the visual focus. The piece explores tension as both a structural principle and a visual language — the stone appears to hold the two elements apart while simultaneously being held by them. Hand-fabricated in sterling silver with an oval cabochon sapphire.
An oval cabochon pink ruby is held between two intersecting bands of 14ct yellow gold. The bands curve around one another, creating the tension that secures the stone while leaving much of its smooth surface exposed. The ruby becomes the point of interaction between the two elements — holding the structure apart as the structure holds the stone in place. The flowing curves of the gold contrast with the soft, rounded form of the cabochon, creating a study in balance, force and movement. A round brilliant-cut sapphire is held between two intersecting bands of sterling silver, with only a small portion of the stone revealed at their meeting point. The restrained setting creates a subtle tension between concealment and exposure, allowing the sapphire to emerge from the structure rather than sitting upon it. The piece explores how little is needed to hold a stone, and how much can be suggested by what remains unseen. The continuous silver bands retain their simplicity while the sapphire becomes a small, concentrated point of colour and light. Hand-fabricated in sterling silver with a 4mm round brilliant-cut sapphire.
Where material becomes the subject of exploration
Inspired by the imagined tear of a mermaid, this sculptural piece explores the meeting of organic form and fluid movement. Hand-formed silver flows into a singular, elongated shape, its highly polished surface reflecting light like water. Both jewel and sculpture, Mermaid’s Tear transforms a fleeting moment into a bold, tactile object.

A rich oval garnet cabochon set within a sculptural sterling silver form. Bold yet refined, the deep red of the garnet contrasts beautifully with the tactile character of the hand-finished silver.
